Transition

A transition is the process of moving a firm's operations, data and reporting from one platform to another.

The long pole is rarely the software. It is the quality of the history being carried across — firms whose custodian retained only a few years of data need the remainder reconstructed, and that is real work.

The honest question to ask a prospective provider is what happens if the parallel run does not match.
