Risk-free rate

The risk-free rate is the theoretical return on an investment with no risk of loss, typically proxied by short-dated government obligations, used as the baseline in risk-adjusted measures.

Which proxy and which maturity a provider uses changes every risk-adjusted figure they publish, which is a reason to ask.
