Revenue sharing

Revenue sharing is compensation paid to a platform or adviser by a product provider in connection with client assets invested in that provider's products.

It creates a conflict that has to be disclosed, and disclosed where the client is looking at cost rather than buried in an appendix.

The practical test: if a client learned of the arrangement later and felt it had been technically disclosed rather than actually disclosed, the placement was wrong.
