Order routing

Order routing is the decision about where a trade is sent for execution — which venue, in what size, and in what sequence.

Routing decisions are where execution quality is actually determined, and they are largely invisible to the advisor. That invisibility is the reason the obligation is framed around process and periodic review rather than individual outcomes.
