Blended benchmark

A blended benchmark combines several indices in proportions matching a portfolio's target allocation, producing a comparison appropriate to the strategy being run.

The construction detail that matters is how often the blend is rebalanced. A blend rebalanced monthly and one rebalanced annually will diverge, and the difference is not the manager's skill.
